Athens Area Hunter Jumper Association
In 1991 Kurt and Kimberly Ohlsson moved to Athens, Ga. where Kim finished her
Master Degree in Speech Therapy.
Having come from an area where horse showing was a weekend event Kim saw an
opportunity to bring the local barns together to create a structured series of shows for
the beginner to intermediate level rider.
Within months Kim sought out local barns and brought together a handful of local barn
managers. In a small home located at 630 Tallassee Rd they began to outline the
foundations of what would become Athens Area Hunter Jumper Association.
Since then AAHJA has grown into a local name sake with many of the original founders
still working to keep these local events running for over 12 years!
AAHJA continues to deliver top notch Equestrian Hunting and Jumping events
throughout North East Georgia and is a proud member of the USEF
